Community Guidelines.
PlanetHello works because the people on it agree to a small set of rules. These are those rules, in plain language. By using PlanetHello, you commit to them.
The Pledge.
When you create a PlanetHello account, you agree to the following. We expect you to mean it, and to hold others to it.
-
I am an adult. I am 18 or older. PlanetHello is for adults only. If I encounter someone on a call who appears to be under 18, I will end the call and report them.
-
I keep my identity to myself. I will not share my full name, phone number, address, email, social media handles, employer, school, or any other information that could identify me or someone I know. If another user shares or asks for this information, I will report them.
-
I keep my location to myself. I will not share my city, neighborhood, school, workplace, or any specific location information. If another user shares theirs or asks for mine, I will report them.
-
I will not record. I will not record, transcribe, screenshot, or otherwise capture any part of any call. If another user records or attempts to record, I will report them.
-
I will not ask for money. I will not solicit money, gifts, donations, payment for services, or financial information of any kind. If another user solicits money or financial information, I will report them.
-
I will be respectful. I will treat the person on the other end of the call with basic courtesy, even when we disagree. I will not harass, threaten, demean, or intimidate anyone.
-
I will not arrange off-platform contact. PlanetHello is for one-time anonymous conversations. I will not exchange contact information, attempt to find the other person elsewhere, or arrange to meet in person.
-
I am the human on the call. I will not use bots, AI voice generation, voice cloning, or voice changers. The voice on the call is mine, unmodified.
What's not allowed.
In addition to the Pledge, the following are prohibited and result in immediate ban:
- Sexual content involving anyone under 18, in any form, real or simulated. We report this to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement.
- Threats of violence, doxing, or incitement of violence against any person or group.
- Content depicting real or simulated abuse, exploitation, or non-consensual sexual content.
- Hate speech or content targeting protected characteristics, including race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
- Solicitation of commercial sex or trafficking. We report violations to law enforcement under FOSTA-SESTA.
- Coordinated harassment, organized attacks, or use of PlanetHello to target individuals or groups.
- Promotion of self-harm or suicide.
- Promotion or sale of illegal goods, weapons, or controlled substances.
- Any attempt to circumvent moderation, including using new accounts to evade bans.
Reporting.
After every call, you can report the person you spoke with. Reports go to people on our team, not algorithms. Your identity as the reporting user is never shared with the reported user.
We treat reports involving child safety, threats of violence, trafficking, and coordinated harassment as the highest priority. You won't be told the outcome of your report, but every report is reviewed.
For imminent danger, contact emergency services directly.
Bans.
When the team finds a violation, possible actions include a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban. A reported account may be required to verify a phone number before continuing to use the platform.
Permanent bans are tied to both email and phone. Banned users cannot create a new account using the same identifiers.
Appeals.
If you believe a ban was issued in error, email support@planethello.com. We review appeals within 14 business days.
A note on anonymity.
PlanetHello is designed for anonymous conversation. We do not record calls. We do not share your identity with the people you talk to. But anonymity has limits.
We retain enough information about your account (email, phone if verified) to enforce bans and to comply with legal requirements, including reporting obligations under U.S. federal law. If a court orders us to disclose information we have - for example, in response to a child safety investigation or a credible threat - we may be required to do so.
See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect, what we retain, and how we share information.
